Cobol beats Actionscript

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

Well, that’s what it says today in the list of most popular programming languages.

See for yourself:

Actionscript versus Cobol

Although I have the utmost respect for my fellow COBOL programmers, being an Actionscript programmer myself it’s obvious I would prefer to see the Actionscript language rise from it’s current 22nd position.

Hmm… what can I do? maybe I should do my part by taking less PHP projects and adding some more Actionscript to the mix? ;-)

Check the current popularity status on the TIOBE website where I found the list. It’s updated once a month.

From time to time  extra ideas will be added, so check out this blog and the labs pages !

Old CreOFF site

Some people were amazed when they saw the new version of the CreOFF site. And -embarrassing to admit- not all in a positive way. What happened to that nice old Flash site, original yet simple and to the point?

Adobe Pagemill

Do you remember the last time someone confronted you with some of your early work? Yesterday during a meeting an old friend pointed out to me that one of the first public sites we ever made was still online. So today just before shutting down my pc I googled for the site and yes, there it was: the 1996 first edition of the Suikerrock rockfestival website!

Coldfusion fridge magnets

Fridge Magnets

This is an example of a New Year’s card application (some 2 years old) but still something I would like to include in my portfolio. Not just because it was a fun project (the message you can send to your friend is made by typing and shuffling letters on the fridge) but also because this is one of the few occassions I had the opportunity to work with Coldfusion.

Does the start of YOUR workday look like this?

It’s here

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

Yep. it was bound to happen. But still it took so long. People who know me probably understand all too well what I’m talking about.

Anyway. I hope you appreciate it too. Because somehow because of this we might get connected. You never know… it’s a small online world anyway, no?
